FAQs
What is a tankless hot water heater?
Conventional Hot Water Tanks heat a large tank of water to a desired temperature and then you draw on it when you need hot water. A tankless hot water heater does not store hot water, but heats it instantaneously when you turn on a hot water faucet. Since it heats it as is passes through the system it never runs out of hot water, and since it does not need to maintain a tank of hot water – it is significantly more energy efficient.
Why should I go with tankless instead of a conventional tank?
Unlimited hot water on demand: Tankless water heaters never run out of hot water. Take as long as a shower as you want, or take two showers simultaneously, or fill that bathtub all the way up!
Energy efficiency: Tankless water heaters typically improve your energy consumption by 40% or more. So the amount of money you spend on hot water should be reduced by at least 40%. This type of water heater only heats water when you need it, so you no longer maintain hot water while you are away from home, or not needing it while at home.
Longer lasting: A properly maintained Tankless Water Heater lasts 5-10 years longer than a typical tank water heater. The new Sensei tankless water heaters also have a very simple internal design which makes ongoing service and maintenance simple and reliable.
Environmentally responsible: Not only are the units much smaller than a typical water heater, lessening the resources needed to construct them, but by dramatically lowering the amount of fuel needed to operate the systems you will be doing your part in lowering your carbon footprint.
Do you use my existing gas supply?
Typical water heaters require 50,000 BTU’s, while tankless use 150,000 to 199,000 BTU’s, so we usually run an additional gas line from your meter. There are non-invasive ways of doing this that are quite effective. We will size your system to make sure that it is needed to run a new gas line.
Do you need to run a new vent?
Our new super high efficiency units have the ability to connect with your existing venting system eliminating the need for new vents to be run.
How long does it take for the hot water to reach my faucet?
The system will not speed up the amount of time it takes for you to get water. However we can make it very fast by installing a recirculation system.
Do they have recirculation systems?
All of our systems have recirculation capacity, and our most exclusive model has it built-in!
I don’t have a recirculation system. Do you you have to run a new pipe to get one?
While we can run a dedicated line for a recirculation system to get faster hot water, we have the ability to use a new system to run a recirculation system utilizing your existing pipes.
Can I get a tax credit?
